Now that the wedding is over, we'll be blogging as photos become available and also to share honeymoon pictures. In addition, I am including a section on vendor reviews and some links to vendors for friends in the wedding planning stages. We have our photos available online. I am not very familiar with how Pictage works, but if you go to www.pictage.com and log on, I think we are under "Elizabeth & Ian" so I hope people can view them.

Save the date

If you're checking out our blog for the first time, it's probably because you just received a save-the-date card from us. We are so excited to see all our friends and family on our wedding day!

We will post more details here as the date approaches, but for now, there's not too much to add. The save-the-date card did not mention the wedding ceremony and reception will be held in the evening, so hopefully that can help you with your planning. I know Sunday is an awkward time for many of you to visit from out-of-town, but unfortunately, we couldn't secure a venue in Kansas City in less than a year for a Saturday. . .places get all booked up so early!

Invitations won't go out until March or so, so in the meantime, please contact me if you need any assistance finding accomodations here in town, or with your travel plans. I cannot wait to see those of you I haven't seen for ages, and I'm excited to meet new faces, too.

Welcome to our Wedding Blog

After about a month of wedding planning, a couple of things have become apparent:

1. I know this is surprising, but not everyone wants to hear me talk about the wedding ad nauseum. Therefore, the wedding stuff has been exiled to its own blog, for those who ARE interested in this sort of thing to peruse at their own peril.

2. I need an online space to post pictures and web links because curious family and friends keep asking me to e-mail them, and they take up far too much space on my work computer's limited hard drive.

So here it is! The name of our blog comes from our imaginary "combined" last name. I will be taking Ian's last name when we marry, for ease and lessened confusion for our family, but when discussing options the whole "create an entirely new blended last name" idea came up. Schlomar was one of the completely outrageous names we came up with using the letters of "Arnold" and "Schmidt."
